Sharp at the Big5 2009 Exhibition

SMEF participated at this year's Big5 2009 exhibition for the first time, exhibiting Sharp's Solar, Plasmacluster and Display products at the exhibition booth in the newly erected Sheikh Saeed Halls. The organizers of the exhibition wanted to make the event Carbon Neutral and to deliver their sustainability message to the visitors, they developed the Big5 Green Stand to educate visitors about what it meant by Going Green. Sharp was asked to officially represent the stand and speak about Solar Energy and its benefits in making the world a greener place for future generations.

"The Big5 exhibition, has been the most important construction and maintenance exhibition in the region for over a decade, it was an easy decision for SMEF to be there to promote our Solar, IDP  and PCI products" says Grant Crawford, Sales Manager - Business Solutions Division. Present in two different locations, Sharp managed to gain mileage from being present in an exhibition stand as well as being official speakers to talk about Solar Energy to the visitors.

The exhibition showed clear signs that the region is emerging out of the recession. However general footfall was lower than earlier years, partly due to an increase in such events in neighboring countries. "The event was however a good opportunity for SMEF, as the market is ready for accepting sustainability and the time is now to talk to them" said Mohannad Al Shami, Business Development Manager - Solar. "We got extra mileage from the presence on the education stand as many customers were being re-directed from there to our location" adds Mohannad.
